Third, kammically indeterminate consciousness (abyākata-citta) is considered, states of mind that are neither wholesome nor unwholesome. This is first bifurcated into resultant consciousness (vipāka-citta) and functional consciousness (kiriya-citta), which in turn are each used as headings for classifying their subordinate types.
