The Strathallan Aircraft Collection acquired ex-RCAF Lysander III(TT) 0 2355 from Manitoba in 1971 and that October it arrived at Strathallan Airfield, Auchterarder, Perthshire. There the fuselage structure, undercarriage, wheels and tail were completely overhauled and the civil registration G-AZWT was issued. At the same time the Mercury engine was given a thorough examination. However, while work was underway the collection at Strathallan was rapidly increasing - by some thirty aircraft since the Lysander arrived.
